Every Easter Sunday, Austin New Church moves our services downtown under the I-35 bridge at 2:00pm. (No Easter Sunday morning services at the church) We break from the traditional mold to answer our call "to serve the poor and be about the Kingdom". No fancy dresses or new suits. No Easter bonnets.
We are there to serve the often marginalized homeless community of Austin. A sit down meal is provided (courtesy of Hat Creek Burgers) and they are engaged in meaningful, dignifying conversations and Good News is shared.
These brothers and sisters spend countless hours on their feet, usually wearing cast off or worn out shoes. We mobilize the body (via Social media) to partner with us to provide a brand new pair of boots or shoes. The response from around the world is literally mind-numbing. A great reminder of the beauty of the Bride.
All are welcome to come hang out and celebrate with us.
